WHO SAID RUBBISH ISN’T SEXY? VIDEO MARKETING, SOCIAL MEDIA WITH THE CITY BIN CO. AND TREE LIGHT PICTURES

Online Marketing in Galway (OMiG) is delighted to announce that its next meet up session will take place on Tuesday the 26th of February at 7pm in the Harbour Hotel, Galway. OMiG, would again like to thank the Harbour Hotel for its very generous and on-going support of the network’s activities.

This month’s event is kindly being sponsored by The City Bin Co. A member of their marketing team will be guest speaking on the night alongside the very talented Tree Light Pictures (Video). The event promises to be an interesting one as both Tree Light Pictures and The City Bin Co. have worked together on some great video marketing over the last couple of months and with some great results.

Guest speakers, Oisin Browne from The City Bin Co. and Josef Hrehorow from Tree Light pictures are a force to be reckoned with. Maricka Burke Keogh, Founder of Online Marketing in Galway has had many dealings with them both over the last year, saying;

‘It is amazing to see the way they think, not to sound cliché but the way they both approach a project is definitely what you would call ‘outside of the box’. Oisin’s stories from the last year alone will illustrate his unique ability to innovate with very little tools and the work Josef and his team can do with video and the camera is second to none. At OMiG we love to see this type of talent in Galway and it is great we get the opportunity to share these stories’

Oisin Browne from The City Bin Co. will be kicking of the night with a talk on Social Media Marketing and its importance for small to medium businesses. He will be sharing tips on ‘How to get started’, ‘Create content’, ‘Grow your audience’ and ‘Engage with clients and potential customers on social media platforms’ such as LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Blogger. Oisin will discuss The City Bin Co.’s success online and how they implemented a laser focus social media strategy that saw the company organically grow their YouTube Channel from 0 to 21,000 views in the space of 8 months and their Facebook page from 100 to over 4000 followers over the same period. As well as working with The City Bin Co. since 1998, Oisin also writes a business column for the Galway Advertiser called ‘Drop The Monkey Business’ and writes business blog posts for The Huffington Post. He is co-founder and chairman of the Business Motivation Group and author of two business books to be released this year on the subject of Selling and Marketing.

Josef Hrehorow from Tree Light Pictures will round up the evening by giving a talk on using web video to promote your business. Tree light pictures is a newly established video content provider. To date their clients include the Galway City Council, NUIG and Intel. The talk will cover ‘Why companies small and large should be looking to produce video content’, ‘How best to approach it’ and ‘How to get the most out of your video content’.

Registration to this event is open and free, registrations will be made live online via evenbrite on 19th February at 9am. Links to registrations will be made available through the OMiG website www.Galwaymarketing.ie, and will also be announced on all OMiG social media channels.

Preparation for OMiG’s March event is also underway! The event will take place on March 26th 2013 and is being sponsored by Blueface, an IP telephony services company which is headquartered in Ireland. There will also be guest speakers from Blueface and MINT Digital, a Galway Digital Design Agency will present at this event. Further details to come.

OMiG are delighted to see the West responding so well to the network. We are in a time where sharing knowledge is important and using local resources, companies and agencies is essential. It is our aim to continually grow and improve the OMiG network making it a quality resource for all marketers and business professionals alike.
