This years parade will start at 11.30am, 17th March 2012 on Lower Dominick Street (Monroes Pub) the parade will then move up Dominick Street over O’Briens Bridge up Shop Street and on to Eyre Square the parade will finish at Galway County Council Buildings.
This years St Patricks Day Parade in Galway City promises to be the biggest and best ever featuring over 60 bands, artists dance groups and community groups.
40 Members of the Massachusetts state police will also march in the Galway City parade
Blue Teapot Theatre Group will have an environmental theme with fantastic characters that will play with the crowd to get everyone involved!
Galway Commuity Circus will have blocks of primary colours (Green, Red, Yellow & Blue) & a big parachute with all of these colours!
Foroige’s youth service ‘Galway City Youth Cafe’ collaborating with all youth groups throughout the city to design and construct the largest green shake Ireland has ever seen!
Cumann na bhFear willbe demonstrating Blacksmithing on the forge.
There will also be a 1940s Garvey Thrashing machine which will be pulled by a 1962 Ford Major
